Graduation!

Goodbye 3am mornings!
Acknowledgements: I never dreamed that I would become an educator and came into the profession with little educational background in education; because of this I decided that I needed to go back to school, which was a terrifying thought as I was at the beginning of my career as an educator and working at a new school. “To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and ever.” Jude 1:25

2014 Art Classes

I created these lessons using elements of art/principles of design Eric Carlisle was highlighted and the art of illustration. The animals printouts are coloring sheets printed 4 uo. I've been using interdisciplinary themes alot this year.

3rd-6th Mandala Project is finished: for now anyway...This is the work of 60 students. The project integrated social studies (India), multiculturalism, and color theory in these mathematically based radial designs. I love the overall impact of the work completed 100% by our elementary students.

From Danica Papali at Good Shepherd Episcopal School:
This is a collaborative modular origami project that introduced Chinese New Year and the asian art of origami. The lessons emphasized mathematic integration and ruler use. The story of Sasko Sadaki and the 1,000 cranes was intriguing to the students who were inspired by her life and the peace monument in Japan that was made possible by help from school children. Our 3rd-6th grade students were in stiff competition to see which class could fold the most origami pieces in 4 days. Our 3rd grade class assembled the dragon by working in teams of 2-3 students then joining together the pieces. This project was a community effort and also taught the students a way to use recycled paper to create art.
