Self Portraits

This week in Art Class I taught on the subject "who are you in Christ?"

and students learned about proportion and placement in portraits.

We studied works from: August Rodin;

• Toulouse-Lautrec;

• El Greco for elongated figures.

• K: whole figure portraits by-John Singer Sargent

I began by challenging the classes to remember that we are made in the image of God and taught about proportion they studied their faces in the mirror then I did multiple in class demo sketches and the drawing below, this really peaked their interest.

We talked about hair and eye color, as well as adding things that make you, you! 

All the portraits were hung in the cafeteria for parent teacher night.
